How much does laser hair removal cost?

The cost of laser hair removal varies depending on the size of the treatment area, yet most facial procedures tend to start from around £35. With that said, you may require numerous sessions in order to completely eliminate the hair, so do take that into consideration. A full quote will be provided following your consultation at the NWA clinic.

How does laser hair removal work?

We use the Lynton Laser here at North West Aesthetics. Through gentle, yet intense bursts of energy directly onto the hair follicles, they are permanently destroyed at the root to prevent regrowth. Although this is a relatively pain-free treatment, we can minimise discomfort further with pain relief where necessary.

What results can I expect?

You will notice immediate improvement and significant hair reduction after just one treatment, although multiple treatments are usually required in order to see the best results. Dark hair often sees better results than blonde hair, although all hair types are treatable.

How long is the procedure?

As with price, timing is also affected by the size of the treatment area, although facial hair would take considerably less time to treat than other areas of the body perhaps would. In general, you should expect to spend at least 30 minutes at North West Aesthetics, with 15 minutes required for a consultation before treatment.

How many treatments do I need?

This varies from person to person, although we usually see the best results with 2-8 treatments, depending both on the patient and the area that is being treated. Sessions must also be 4-6 weeks apart; this allows your hair to grow back between treatments.

What is the recovery time?

No downtime is required post-treatment, just be sure to follow our aftercare advice. Initially, it’s wise to avoid sun exposure and continue to maintain your sun protection with an SPF of at least 30. Also try to avoid abrasive skin cleansers and exfoliators until your skin has fully healed over the course of a few days.

What are the side effects?

In general, side effects tend to be very minimal, with most patients experiencing only slight swelling and redness for a few hours post-treatment. Should you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to get back in touch.

Who is suitable and not suitable for laser hair removal?

To determine your suitability for this type of treatment, we first ask that you attend a thorough consultation with one of our experts in order to assess your wants and needs, as well as your skin and hair. In general, almost anyone is suitable for facial laser hair removal. With that said, be sure to avoid plucking, waxing or electrolysis for at least 6 weeks before your first treatment. On the day of your treatment, we ask that you first shave and cleanse the treatment area thoroughly. You will have had to had a patch test at least 48 hours prior to treatment, too. You cannot be exposed to the sun or have fake tan 4 weeks before or during treatment sessions.
